Why I Have a Blog

Long story short… I know how to grow on YouTube but I keep feeling called to write.

I need to hone this skill. It’s something I’ve always had somewhat of a knack for, but I know it will be extremely important down the line for me

But here’s the thing: I don’t want to do this.

It’s good for me though. It forces me to slow down, to, in the words of Ryan Holiday “wage peace with oneself”.

If I want to publish a book someday, a blog is a great place to begin. This is where I’ll build my email list. This is where I’ll engage in the war of art. This, here, is where my posterity will get to know me.

So what can you expect from this blog?

But musings in the form of art.

At least I’m going to try to make them artistic.

I don’t know if anyone will read these. If you’re reading this… hello 🙂

I’ll probably start emailing people with these thoughts. And practicing more sales copy type writing – having that skill is one of the highest paying in the entire world.

It’s funny, in starting this blog I looked up “how to make money blogging” as if that were the real purpose. I have a tendency to think everything I’m called to do has to make me money or have the potential to make me money.

What if the blog is just for the benefit of people? And there are no ulterior motives? No reason for me to care about readership except that important ideas are reaching people, impacting them, and hopefully making a difference in the way they operate.

I like that.

So, that’s the purpose of this blog. For me to get better at writing, and hopefully make a difference in a few people’s lives along the way as well.
